We are pleased to be hosting this free pop up event produced by Band on the Wall on Sunday 5 July. It will feature live music performances by Edward the Second and others, exhibition displays and talks, as well as good food and real ales. The event was inspired by Edward ll”s discovery of the repertoire known as the Manchester Broadsides and the history and stores that lie behind the songs. Produced in Manchester throughout the industrial revolution these songs tell of politics, hardship, social justice and good times as experienced in the 19th century.
The event will take place in our car park and garden. The pub features in the song ‘The Soldier’s Return”.
Doors will open for the exhibition and presentations at 2pm with musical performances between 4pm and 9pm.
Pub itself open from 12 noon as usual.
